Quran Tracker ("we", "the app") helps you track Quran reading, prayer times, zikr, and related spiritual habits. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.

Summary

• You can use most features as a guest without an account.
• If you create an account, we store your email and authentication data through Supabase.
• Reading progress, favorites, goals, and settings are stored on your device in v1.
• Location is used only when you enable Qibla direction (while the app is in use).
• We do not sell your personal data.

Data we collect

Account data (optional)

If you register or sign in:

• Email address
• Authentication identifiers (Supabase user ID)
• Google account identifier (if you use Google Sign-In)

App data (stored on your device)

• Quran reading progress and streak
• Khatma goal settings
• Favorite ayahs
• Prayer city and notification preferences
• Theme and language settings

Location data

If you use the Qibla compass, the app may request location permission to calculate direction. Prayer times use a city you select manually and do not require GPS.

Notifications

If enabled, the app schedules local notifications on your device for prayer reminders and optional morning/evening zikr reminders.

How we use data

• Provide account sign-in, password reset, and account deletion
• Save your preferences and reading progress on your device
• Show prayer times and Qibla direction
• Send local reminders you opt into

Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication and account management
• Google Sign-In — optional login
• Public Quran APIs — Arabic text, translations, and recitation audio

Data retention and deletion

• Guest data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
• Account deletion: In Profile → Delete account, you can permanently delete your account and associated cloud auth data.
• Local data on your device is not automatically deleted when you delete your account; uninstall the app or clear storage to remove it.

Security

Account authentication uses industry-standard practices through Supabase. Data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
